Presented by Youthworx, Our Voices is a youth-led initiative that empowers newly arrived or refugee young people to create films that are meaningful for them.
As part of the 2018 program I mentored a group of four young Syrians who responded to the theme of belonging. They created a powerful short hybrid film titled ‘Stay Strong’, utilising green screen, autobiographical storytelling, and metaphorical performance to express the injury of distance and hope for future.
